You can save a lot with a good choice of local transportation, foods, and drinks. Taking public Transportation such as bus and bemo are cheap transportation in the city center. When public buses and bemo are not available, you can go around by horse cart or ojek (motorcycle taxi) as cheaper option than taxi. You can also rent motorbike or bicycle. If you need to cross the Islands, traditional fishing boat may cost you less than speedboat. Nevertheless, make sure to agree on the price before the journey or you may get a high charge.

For foods and drinks, small Restaurants (people called it warung) will give you so much lower prices than big Restaurants.
